Varshavchic Elena Feliksovna was born on the 2nd of May in 1969 in Moscow in the family of an artist. Her mother Aia Seminina is a painter, she had worked in the reduction of Fashion Magazine on Kuznezkii Most street for a long time. Her grand father David Nurenberg is a talented painter,a participant of the first World War. Many of his works are now in the Tretiakov Gallery.
1984-86 a pupil of an art school
1991-96 a student of the Poligraphic Institute (now the Academy of Printing)
Spring 1994 autumn 1995 a participant of The Exhibitions of Youth on Kuznezkii Most street
Winter 1996 her personal exhibition in Borovsk
November 1998 - her personal exhibition in Moscow in the exhibition centre Na Piatnizkoi

Elena Varshavchik is a talented painter, author of many unusual works. The style of her painting is characterized as Dadaism a kind of artistic hooliganism. This is art without any ideological cliché and politics. Its philosophy is direct children's perception of life through bright, cheerful tone and a surprising combination of images of animals, people and things around us. All force of talent reveals in skill of the artist to see the world with a new eye and to transfer the perception to the spectator. |
