Boris Vladimirovich OKOROKOV (born in 1933 in Moscow).
(1933-2005)
Honoured artist of the RSFSR (1982)Well-known Moscow painter. Studied in the Moscow State Institute of Arts named after V.I. Surikov under M.I. Kurilko, F.P. Reshetnikov, and V.K. Nechitailo. He graduated from the institute with honours (workshop of V.G. Tsyplakov).
Since 1960 he has been a member of the USSR Union of Artists. Worked in the Studio of Military Artists named after M.B. Grekov (1962-1968).
Member of the Board of the Moscow Organization of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1971-1975).
Works by B. Okorokov are in museums and private collections in Russia, the Ukraine, England, Holland, Hungary, Czechia, the USA, France, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Montenegro, Cyprus etc |

A style of painting which depicts subject matter (form, color, space) as it appears in actuality or ordinary visual experience without distortion or stylization. In a general sense, refers to objective representation. More specifically, a nineteenth century movement, especially in France, that rejected idealized academic styles in favor of everyday subjects. Daumier, Millet, and Courbet were realists. |
