Biography | |
Nancy discovered she had natural talent for art from her father, who created pastel portraits as a hobby when she was just a little girl. She took every drawing course available to her throughout her school years, preferring art to everything else. She attended Ringling School of Art majoring in commercial art. After Ringling, Nancy began working in advertising in Central Florida, then moved on to a career in Land Survey and Civil Engineering, as a designer of residential subdivisions and commercial retail design. She then became a designer for Walt Disney World in 1988. In this career move, Nancy provided design services for all Disney theme parks, resorts and water parks which led to a Project Management position in Animal Kingdom in 1998. Here, she coordinated construction projects and worked with all facets of Walt Disney World Engineering, Attractions, Animal Services, Construction and Entertainment. She left Disney in 2003 to pursue engineering opportunities in Michigan and then in Austin, Tx.
Nancyâs art began with realistic drawings and paintings, then moved on to putting pencil to paper and letting creativity flow, creating her âPlanetscapesâ and her many strange little characters. Occasionally, Nancy will paint or draw something realistic, just to stay in practice, but her real love is drawing a shape on a paper, and just letting it go wherever it goesâ¦.. |
