Bob Kimball worked as a brick and stone mason for 27 years. While he always considered masonry to be an art, he felt a calling at that stage in life to pursue a career in fine art, particularly sculpture. His first job in the field was at a glass blowing studio, and quickly learned the trade. As part of the position, he was required to weld metals brackets to hold the glass sculptures, and this ignited his interest in metal sculpture.
Kimball’s sculpture often combine multiple elements, such as glass, stone, metal, stainless steel, bronze and copper. He resides in the Pacific Northwest and his work is inspired by the beauty of the natural world. |
