Description | |
Bold and Brassy! This necklace features three polymer clay/brass crescent shapes with a surface treatment in colours reminiscent of tropical seas. They are wire wrapped and suspended from a brass chain. The necklace fastens with a brass toggle clasp and measures 20 inches around.
Created during a time of personal emotional upheaval, I struggled to find an appropriate name for this one. My first thought had been "The Scream", liberally borrowed of course. Having come out the other side however, this seemed to have an undeservedly negative connotation. It really emerged as the result of emotions bubbling up and breaking through the surface. In like fashion, I then realized that the clay was bubbling up through the brass findings. The oceanic colours I chose to highlight the clay brought to mind the traditional association of water and emotions. Hence, Surfacing, on many levels. |
