Younok Kim was born in Hadong, Korea 1973. She studied oil painting at Kyung Nam University and currently resides in Seoul, Korea.
Younok Kim is a young devoted painter who demonstrated her talent at the early age of seven. Raised near the ocean, she is intrigued by anything associated with bodies of water, and has devoted her artistic career to painting the harbor and beach scenes of southern Europe. Her fascination has taken her from the rocky coats of southern Italy to the lush scenery of French seaside towns.
Younok Kim's style of painting employs thick layers of paint applied with vigorous yet controlled brush strokes coupled with intense colors and hues, both of which illustrate her passion for painting. |
