Biography | |
I was born in England, raised in Canada and moved to San Francisco as a young woman. I knew I was home. I raised a family, remodeled homes, painted, did carpentry and made a living making production art pieces. During this time I attended U.C. Extension, College of Marin and studied with various art instructors. Now I have a studio in the Novato Art Center, and I am a full time professional painter. Each of my paintings is an exploration of the use of line shape and color. When I am painting I get lost in the doing of it. I may paint over and over on one painting or feel that it is finished in a few strokes. There is nothing that I do that is as satisfying as the act of creating. When I feel a work is finished I hope some of the emotion in the work conveys a feeling or a memory and transports the viewer to another place. |

Style Abstract |
 |
A 20th century style of painting in which nonrepresentational lines, colors, shapes, and forms replace accurate visual depiction of objects, landscape, and figures. The subjects often stylized, blurred, repeated or broken down into basic forms so that it becomes unrecognizable. Intangible subjects such as thoughts, emotions, and time are often expressed in abstract art form. |
