Description | |
I absolutely love Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings. They're so chock full of emotion. Some of the works he did on cardboard are his best, Parisian nightlife scenes and women lounging around in brothels waiting for suitors. This painting of mine is far more abstract than most of Lautrec's, but there's a certain air about this woman. She's confident sitting there naked. Originally, this was painted during a nude figure session at the Fine Artist's Factory in Pasadena. There was an umbrella in the right-hand corner which somewhat still remains. I doctored the woman's pose and features a bit further when I got home. I love the colors and how everything swirls apart yet holds together. I consider this to be one of my best paintings. |
